Mr. Richard E. Miller

Mr. Richard E. “Rick” Miller, age 70, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Rick was born on May 11, 1955, in Aiken County, South Carolina, to Evaughn and Annelle Miller. He was a proud graduate of Lander University and began a long and dedicated career in the textile industry, where he faithfully served in various roles until his retirement after many years of hard work and commitment. Above all, Rick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His greatest joy was his family. A lifelong South Carolina Gamecocks fan, he treasured attending football and baseball games, especially when surrounded by those he loved. When he wasn’t traveling to visit family and friends in Saluda, South Carolina, he could most often be found spending time with his two beloved granddaughters. Rick cherished every moment with Charlotte and Kate. He delighted in taking them to and from school each day and never missed an opportunity for a sweet ice cream outing. They adored their “Rick Rick,” and he wore that title with pride and love. Rick also enjoyed motorcycle rides with his son and his childhood best friend Ralph, golfing, and relaxing truck rides to Black Creek Brewery with his grand dog, Archer. He found happiness in simple pleasures and in the company of those closest to him. Those who knew Rick knew his generous heart. He would do anything for anyone, without hesitation. To know him was to be blessed by his kindness, loyalty, and steady presence. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Ashley Miller; his son, Collin Miller (Sarah); Lauren Coates (Jay Mazure); his mother, Miriam Annelle Miller; his brother, David Miller (Rene); his sister, Melanie Lake (Lamar); his two treasured granddaughters, Charlotte Audrey Miller and Kate Annelle Miller; his grand dogs, Archer, Minnie, Luna, Zoey, and Jake; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply. Rick will be profoundly missed, forever loved, and always remembered in the hearts of all who knew him. A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Richard E. Miller will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at Nazareth Methodist Church, 3159 Spann Road, Leesville, South Carolina 29070.
