Carolyn Evon Reed was born on Februay 8th, 1949 in Durham, NC to the Late Frank Reed and Flossie Mae Reed. Carolyn entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 1st at UNC Hospital. Carolyn received her education in Durham Public Schools at Hillside High and furthered her education at Watts School of Nursing, where she received her Nursing Degree and Durham Tech for her Associates Degree in Business Administration. Carolyn retired from nursing at Durham Regional and the City of Durham as a Billing Technician. Carolyn was a very special person to many and loved life to the fullest. Carolyn was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed her. Preceding Carolyn in death are, one sister; Eva Mae Rucker of Durham, NC and Two brothers; Alford Reed and Frank Reed, Jr. of Durham, NC. Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories and mourn her loss: A son, Kenneth Reed of Durham, NC, A daughter, Felicia Reed of Durham, NC, Grandchildren; Tschanna Reed, Joshua Cox, Terrell Watson, Jr, Nazeia Watlington, Layla Watlington and Travon Reams. Great Grandchildren; Amina Pegram, A’mia Watson and A’Mya Watson. Two sisters; Shirleen Smith (Tony) and Curleen Johnson of Greensboro, North Carolina. One Brother, Kenny Reed of Burlington. Several Nieces and Nephews and a host of relatives and friend. Carolyn was also very fortunate to have special devoted friends; Alfonso Regal, Susan Williams and Ketha Brooks. A celebration of life will be held at Scarborough & Hargett Celebration of Life Center, Inc., 309 N Queen Street, Durham, North Carolina 27701, on Tuesday, June 8th; Viewing from 11:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and Life Celebration Service at 11:30 a.m. In every effort to protect our families and their guests, face coverings are required.
