Edward L. Moore affectionately know as “Daddy”, “Big Moe”, “Mr. Ed”, and “Mr. Moore” passed away resting peacefully at Duke Regional Hospital on September 3, 2019 at the age of 80. He was born in Durham County, North Caroling on April 6, 1939 to the late Charlie and Candis Moore. Edward was a man of few words but left a lasting impression on all that he came in contact with. “Daddy” was educated in the Durham Public School System at Little River in Bahama, NC. He was a skilled man that could fix anything. His love and passion was “tending” to his garden. His love for gardening was blessed by the harvest of the many fruits and vegetables; mainly collards and tomatoes. “Daddy” joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at an early age. His faith was as wide as the red sea. He prayed daily for his family in season and out of season. He was a strong man that carried the weight and burdens of others to the Lord daily. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ervin Moore, sister, Louise Cates, sister, Ruby Woods and grandson Twaun Royster. Edward L. Moore leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 61 years, Annie E. Moore; four daughters Annie D. Moore-Baily (Robert), Gloria B. Daniel (Rodney), Sharon J. Moore and Sheila M. Moore; one son, Minister Franklin M. Moore (Annette), an honorary son and daughter, Charlie and Cynthia Street. He also leaves ten grandchildren, Shavondia, Tyrece, Demarcio, Jay, Derrick, Kelly, Asiaa, Brandon, Shabranda and Gabrielle; twenty-two great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; one sister, Jeanie Farrar (Carter); two sisters-in-law, Ruby Parrish and Joyce Farrar; one brother-in-law, James Satterwhite; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones. A celebration of Edward’s life will be held at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 8021 Stagville Rd., Bahama, North Carolina 27503 on Tuesday, September 10th; Family Visitation at 12:00 noon and Life Celebration Service at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Dr. James W. Smith delivering the eulogy. Mr. Edward L. Moore will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
