Cheese was known for being a quick-witted, wisecracking jokester, especially at Irma's expense. He was also well-known in the Durham community as "Big Cheese", and being a great cook, especially his barbecue. George even sold his "Famous Turkey" barbeque in several local grocery stores. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Morris Brown and James Brown. Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Tamkai T. Sutton (Richard) and Anita T. Hoggard (Timothy); one son, Mark A. Alston; two sisters, Margaret T. Johnson and Irma T. Timberlake; one brother, Vernon Ray Trice (Judy); seven grandchildren, Tonita T. Webster (Dakota), Clarissa Trice, Fredrick L. Trice-Fleming, Tyrese Peaks, Anaiya Sutton, Timia Hoggard and Timira Hoggard; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended relatives. A special friend Rose Elliott Lockhart of Durham, North Carolina, and several other family members and friends.
