The passing of Mrs. Peggy Webb McGill, age 62, on Thursday, September 3, 2020, is being announced by her son, Jarrin McGill. Mrs.Peggy Webb McGill born January 12, 1958 to Mr. John Taylor and Mrs. Velvet Ann Webb and Mr. Sam Webb, Jr. (deceased). She received her education in the Durham County School Systems beginning at CC Spaulding Elementary School, Whitted Junior High School and the Great Hillside High School!! She was always noted as the class clown in her younger years in elementary school, always making everyone around her laugh and be happy . Peggy graduated from high school and began to further her education at North Carolina Central University, home of the "Mighty Eagles " where she played a vital role in the Fine Arts Department. Peggy received a BA degree in Art Education from NCCU in 1980 where she began her amazing career as the "BEST" Art Teacher in the State of North Carolina. Peggy began her illustrious journey in educating the young minds of her students through the love of Art in the Charlotte Mecklenburg County for several years until transferring to Bladen County High School where she taught Art Education for several years as well. Peggy decided to relocate closer to home to Person Senior High School where she received Teacher of the Year twice in four years. Peggy's teaching career ended at Chapel Hill School where her students continue to love and adore her love for Art and her sincere love for her students. In total she was a dedicated Teacher for 20 years. She won several Art Exhibit awards. Peggy was a Master decorator, artist and was able to create masterpieces with her beautiful and soft loving hands. Peggy as a young child had a love for God and the Church. She began her relationship with Christ at Ledge Rock Baptist Church where she was a devoted member of the choir and usher board. God lead her to become apart of several other Ministries such as Faucette Memorial Church , Greater Saint Paul Baptist Church, New Creation Christian Fellowship and Life Church International, where she gave 110% of herself and her resource of love to bless each Ministry. Upon moving back to Charlotte, North Carolina, Peggy continued her fellowship with Christ at Greenville AME Zion Church where she was involved in girls scouts, brownies and "Pay What You Can Summer Camp" founded by her sister Mrs. Shenita IheKaire. Peggy was very beautiful, talented, skillful, giving, professional, classy and achieved excellence in everything she touched! She in deed has given her love and talents to all who needed her over the years. Peggy was an Amazing Mother figure to her three sisters when their Beloved Mother * Mrs Velvet Ann Webb* passed away on December 23, 2008, always leading and guiding them in love and support . Peggy will always be remembered for her sincere love and strong commitment to Christ, to her family, students, friends and the community, she is our Precious Angel that will always live in all of our Hearts "FOREVER* Peggy departed this life on Wednesday, September 9 ,2020 at 1933 Bently Place in Charlotte, North Carolina, the home of her sister Ms. Shenita IheKaire. She leaves to cherish her memory one son Jarrin McGill , of Charlotte, North Carolina, three sisters Mrs. Shenita IheKaire also of Charlotte, North Carolina, Elder Lisa Webb of Raleigh, North Carolina, Ms. Jacqueline Webb (Tony), Mr. Johnny Lee McGill of Cary, North Carolina, one brother John Taylor, Jr. (Cheryl) of Middleboro, MA, her father John Taylor, Sr. also of Middleboro, MA, three nieces Ms. Ciara Webb of Raleigh, North Carolina, Ms. Onyinyechi IheKaire of Greensboro, North Carolina, Mrs. Larrisha McGill Youngblood (Gregory) of Efland, North Carolina, three nephews Mr. Chima Noah Trisian IheKaire of Jacksonville, Florida , Mr. Solomon Dunston III (Marisa) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mr.Larry McGill, Jr. of Durham, North Carolina, Mr. LaDerek McGill of Durham, Mr. and Mrs. Larry McGill of Mebane, North Carolina and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Viewing for Mrs. Peggy Webb McGill will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at Scarborough & Hargett Celebration of Life Center, Inc., 309 N Queen Street, Durham, North Carolina 27701. A Service of Celebration has been scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Scarborough & Hargett Celebration of Life Center, Inc., 309 N Queen Street, Durham, North Carolina 27701 at 12:30 p.m. *Attendance at the service is limited to fifty individuals and in every effort to protect our families and their guests, face coverings are required upon entering our facility.
