Mrs. Tammie Taylor

Tammie Jo Rowell-Taylor was born in Durham, North Carolina on August 22, 1959. After an extended illness, Tammie passed away on August 2, 2018, at the age of 58 at Alamance Medical Center in Burlington, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by James Taylor, her husband, James M. Rowell, her father, her step-father, Robert Alexander and her step-mother, Margaret Rowell. Tammie was educated in the Durham Public School system and later attended job corps where she learned the skill of baking and she loved to cook. Years later, Tammie lived in Henderson, N.C. and through friends she met and married James Taylor and they moved to Greenville, N.C. This union did not produce any children, but James had five children. Tammie attended Philippi Church of Christ in Greenville, N.C. She served on the mother board, Usher Ministry and the Outreach Ministry, where she led the food pantry. Tammie later moved to Mebane, N.C. where she attended Beyond Measure Ministry Church under the leadership of Pastor Shannon Long. Tammie loved traveling, shopping, horseback riding and she loved her dog Precious. She also enjoyed meeting people, friends and friendly gatherings. Her friends described her as the life of the party. Surviving relatives include her mother, Roberta Alexander; sisters, Jacquelyn Y. Rowell and Elder Gwendolyn Gantt; brother-in-law, Maxwell Gantt; niece, Ashlee Rowell-Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.
